Six Sentence Sunday

Thanks for stopping by!  Today's excerpt comes from A New Dream.  In this excerpt my heroine pays a surprise visit to her fiance. Read it with caution, though.  Things aren't always what they seem.  A New Dream is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble or Astraea Press.

Matt didn’t answer, but the sound of running water had stopped, so Violet pushed open the door. In the dim light she couldn’t identify the black object near the door, but she could plainly see the other items. A trail of lacey, pink undergarments led the eye toward the bed. Violet identified Stacey at once even though she saw only one slender, bare shoulder and a head full of tousled, blonde hair. The blood drained from her face as she started to tremble. She would have given anything she possessed to be away from this awful place, but she couldn’t move.
