The servants set the huge cake on the table in front of Alan.

"We are required to cut the cake,"ʺ he muttered. He put his hand

under Morgane's elbow and assisted her to rise. "I must cut a piece

for you, and you for me. This is our tradition. It signifies that we

will always take care of each other." His heart burned when he

remembered cutting cake with Olwyn. That all happened in another

lifetime.
