Snippet Sunday and Weekend Writing Warriors

Welcome to Sunday Snippet and Weekend Writing Warriors, your chance to sample snippets from such great authors. My snippet today comes from my current WIP titled Flood. This snippet takes place where I left off last week with a rejected suitor showing up at my heroine's house to see what she and my hero are up to. They almost got into a fist fight, but my heroine prevented it. Ignore the creative punctuation, but if you see anything I should work on, let me know.

What was Jason thinking; they’d never been involved in a romantic relationship. They were friends, nothing more than friends; it didn’t make sense for him to be jealous of Caleb.
Caleb moved to her side. The cold challenge in his eyes had been replaced by a warm, caressing expression. “Why’d you do that?”
“Er, do what?”
“Pick me again.”
Aria sighed.

  13. Oh, I like it!

I'm curious as to what her response will be.

Only one thing threw me out of the story was the use of the word "caressing" when describing his expression. It seems like a tactile action, not a visual one. Other than that, this is a great snippet. Can't wait to see what happens next!
