Six Sentence Sunday

For the past few Sundays we've been following my heroine as she returned from her sister's wedding. Since her sister took her boyfriend away and married him, Kara isn't feeling super happy. In a fit of rage she destroys her wedding dress. Ashamed, she takes it into the attic where she finds an empty trunk to put it in. Well, it's almost empty. There's a letter there from her Aunt Rebecca. This excerpt takes place after Kara reads the letter.

The letter fluttered to the floor from Kara’s shaking hands. Her knees felt spongy, so she sank to the attic floor and leaned back against the trunk. She heard someone moaning which surprised her because she hadn’t realized anyone else was in the attic. My goodness! The sound had come from her.  She glanced at her ruined dress in its plastic bag and remembered that she came to the attic because she planned to hide the dress from her parents

Wow, what was in that letter?  I'll just say it was something pretty life changing and that Kara will never be the same again.  Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews reviewed Her Kind of Man and said in part:   I love stories like this where you just love the hero and heroine despite some flaws in their character. They seem more realistic. It’s those flaws in us as humans that make us individuals, and I could relate to them more this way. I highly recommend this book!!! A great book to curl up with on a rainy day.  Read the entire review at the following URL.
