“Where did you go last night?” Ross asked.

Kara sensed raw emotion swirling underneath his quiet voice, but he didn’t deserve consideration from her. “It’s none of your concern,” she answered, making her voice as cold and flat as possible. She bit the inside of her lip to hold back her tears. He looked so familiar, so dear, but he’d had an affair with another woman. As far as she was concerned, he had forfeited his rights as a husband.
