Six Sentence Sunday: She's Safe Now


This excerpt comes from my just completed and unrevised romantic comedy Fortuna.  In this excerpt, my hero is comforting my heroine who has just been through a tornado.  If you'd like to read more, check out Saturday's sample which is also from Fortuna.
“I…I hurt my knee,” she sniffed. “A tornado got my car.” Her arms tightened around him. He felt so solid, so safe.
Cade made a small sound somewhere between a groan and a moan and buried one hand in her hair. His lips pressed against hers with an abandon that sent Aimee’s temperature sky high.

  9. Lyric, there is a LOT of tension here. They're in a house reputed to be haunted, she just escaped a tornado, and she's engaged to someone else.
