Snippet Sunday: Her Kind of Man

Welcome to Sunday Snippet. My excerpt today comes from Her Kind of Man. In this excerpt, my hero's family tries to talk him out of a date with my heroine. Bobby, Ross's brother speaks first.

"Are you looking to get your heart broken? I've never really liked her. She ignored you all through high school, and now she's using you to make Brandon jealous. Why are you playing along?"

"Mind your own business, Bobby. I'm a grown man, and I know what I'm doing."

Bobby shook his head. "No, you don't. You're going to lose your head over a woman who doesn't give a crap about you. And never has."

Her Kind of Man is on sale for .99 at http://lachesispublishing.com/?product=her-kind-of-man and is a publisher's bestseller.
Her Kind of Man has been designated A True Gem.

  2. High school isn't the best measurement of a person's character, sometimes. :)

  4. Sounds like his brother thinks he's a glutton for punishment. I love that he's trying to be practical and protective at the same time that he's basically calling him an idiot. LOL

  5. I like that his family worries about him....but also good that he's strong enough to know his own mind! Excellent excerpt...

  6. If she treated him that badly, you can't blame the family for being concerned. But hopefully she's changed.

  7. A brother who cares. You can see his point, but I'm hoping his worries are for nothing. :)

  8. This is one of the things that I liked best about this book, Elaine. It's real. Relationships aren't glossed over in it. I really liked that his family didn't like her. I grew up on a farm, in a farming community, and I know farmers can be, as my mom used to say, "reverse snobs". My dad's mom who was a farmer all of her life, never accepted my mom who came from a tiny company town. Great 8! :-) Congrats on your "True Gem" designation!
