Liz goes to London to visit her lover, Lars, a computer expert sequestered in the office of a hacking group. Unaware the two women are actually different people, Lars mistakes look-alike Liz for Zaydee, who he claims to truly love. Hearing a menacing noise at the office door, he tells Liz where to hide and gives her a box of letters intended for Zaydee. This chapter ends in heightened suspense: 'Slipping through the small opening [within a wardrobe], she let the door close behind her, sealing herself into the safe room.'

"As the principal protagonist, Zaydee's enigmatic personality unfolds through her internal thoughts as she plans her future and charms cohorts into helping her. The imprisoned “princess” could hardly wait to get back into the computer room and start the process. This was one of her best scams yet. Going through her regular routine of sign-ins and secure servers, she finally got to Agent Whitehead’s account. Trying to be quick, but careful as always, she searched for the account information she needed. Someone pulled a chair up next to her, giving her a small jump.

“So what are we doing?” Maria asked as she rubbed her hands together.

Zaydee punched her lightly in the arm.  “You snuck up on me. Haven’t you heard I know dangerous Kung Fu moves? It’s not safe to scare me!”

“Well, maybe if you weren’t so serious, it wouldn’t be so easy to surprise you! So what can I do? This sounds like something big. Give me somethin’!”

“All right, just take the computer next to me and tell me when you’re into a secure server.”

Maria’s long, thin fingers moved quickly over the computer. Zaydee imagined that at one time Maria had been a stocky, sturdy character. Traces of her muscles remained, but Maria knew she was in for the long haul at FDC, and didn’t much care about her dwindling figure.

“Ready. What’s up next?”

Zaydee gave her the bank login information from the Bahamas account and the name of Agent Binder to get into his account at the same time. “Just get the account info and have it ready. We’re going to do a large transfer.”
