Practical Advice from an Evolved Soul

BLURB:

"Fulfill your destiny Fifi, as you wander through the Wilderness," Goth her spirit guide tells her....

Marcus Dino's latest book 'Practical Advice from an Evolved Soul', an anthology like it's smash hit predecessor, 'Diary of a Mad Gen Yer.' has 21st century actress/heroine Cheryl 'Fifi' Larouche coming back outrageous as ever introducing new 'Silly Stories,' 'Silly Poems,' and 'Silly Blogs', plus an added new twist using the world of Twitter, Fifi's 'Silly Tweets.'

'Practical Advice from an Evolved Soul' is third in a series of 'Fifi's stories following Marcus Dino's top ten Amazon Bestseller 'Diary of a Mad Gen Yer' in addition to his original Hollywood novel 'Fifi.'

Many of the major characters from Mr. Dino's two earlier book are back in 'Evolved Soul' including Fifi's boyfriend Biff, her obstinate father Charles, and her two alien friends from the planet Zatoris, Alocki and Helos. In addition there are some very interesting new characters in 'Evolved Soul' including a long dead Englishman who said he knew great literary figures such as Dickens and Keats called 'The 200 Year Old Great Writer,' and two entities who say they are 'Fifi's Spirit Guides' Goth and Au.

Both Goth and Au write very inspirational blogs that convey a strong message in the 'Blogs' section of 'Evolved Soul.'

'Practical Advice from an Evolved Soul' is both humorous and inspirational and like it's two predecessors will entertain the reader from beginning to end.

A WORD FROM THE AUTHOR

1.What's the best and worst part of being an author?

The best part is being 'The Artist.'  The creativity,  I get to write anything I want to write.  Building an interesting character is like creating an interesting painting.  The worst part is the frustation that any writer or artist has trying to make something or someone out of scratch and really getting the public interested in this project.   Writing a book for an author, just like completing a work of art for an artist. is half the battle.  I saw a recent movie where an artistic promoter rented the walls of a night club where people would see the works of art as  they went...to the restroom.  Of course I'm writing about a girl who keeps on going from one audition to another so she can land that first bit role as an actress in a two bit Hollywood flick.    Promoting a book is the same thing.   I can't tell you how many book fairs I have been to, how many authors blogs I have participated in, how many people in the media I have contacted with press releases,  how many podcasts I have done, how many local book stores I have placed my books 'on consignment' with,  and I just finished my 15,000th tweet on Twitter, linked with Facebook, as 'Fifi Larouche.'  But again like an artist or like Fifi, I have to get my name out there in order to get recognition.

2.Which book of yours is your favorite? Why?

This is a tough question because I really like all three books that I have written; Fifi, Diary of a Mad Gen Yer, and Practical Advice from an Evolved Soul.  I equally like all three.  Each one has a different style.  Fifi is the Hollywood Novel.  It introduces who Fifi Larouche is, it concentrates on the story line of her determination to be the best performance artist Hollywood has ever seen and the trials and tribulations she goes through to get there, especially the career conflict she has with her father.  Diary an anthology of short stories and poems introduces the fantasy angle as basically the theme is since Fifi can't land Hollywood roles due to intense competition, she acts out her roles in her 'silly dreams.  I basically go from real life characters from Fifi such as Charles. Fifi's father, Biff her boyfriend, and Kerry her Hollywood rival to fantasy characters in Diary  like Helos and Alocki, her ET friends from another star system and the 200 Year Old Great Writer, an English ghost who talks in Shakespearean prose and was once a well know writer with contemporaries such as Charles Dickens and Jane Austen.   Finally the anthology  Evolved Soul not only continues the fantasy angle but introduces the Spiritual component as I introduce Fifi's 2 spirit guides, Au and Goth.  These Spirit Guides not only give real life spiritual advice but hint to Fifi that there is more to life on earth than being 'rich and famous.'

3.What are your favorite authors in the genre that you write?  With the short stories and Fantasy in Evolved Soul and Diary I learned a lot from science fiction and fantasy writers such as Ray Bradbury, JR Tolkien, and Roald Dahl.    With  Fifi I really emulated Hemingway's story writing and character development,

4.Which of your characters is most like you?  Yeah  I'm a lot like Helos, Fifi's absent minded extraterrestrial friend who is one of the smartest people she ever met but at times a bit on the 'absent minded' side.  Supposedly Helos with his partner Alocki was able to navigate a starship trillions of miles from the nearest star system, Alpha Centauri, and have such a  mastery of genetics that he hardly ages during the long space travel but he also wears dress up shoes to the gym when he works out.  I get forgetful and absent minded at times just like Helos.
