Would you wear an engagement ring that your fiancé won in a poker game? How about if it was this ring?
It doesn't sparkle very much does it? This is an 18th century diamond ring with rose cut diamonds. Rose cuts are relatively crude so they don't sparkle the way modern cuts do. The jeweler put foil under the stones because they were meant to be seen in reflected candle light. Remember, they didn't have electricity in the eighteenth century.
Aimee doesn't like the ring, but the local realtor, June, loves it and would give anything to have it. And she doesn't want to stop with just the ring. She'd be very glad to take the man along with the ring!
