Blurb:
Drawn together by their love of animals, Aria De Luca and Caleb Hawkins burn for each other. They never suspected that malignant forces around them were successfully plotting Caleb’s ruin from the moment he entered her life. When the flood of a century strikes Aria’s hometown, an alienated Caleb is all that stands between her and catastrophic loss.

Last Week:
He could use the time to acclimate to being out of prison before he set about finding a permanent job. His room and board would eat up some of his pay, but he’d still have a few dollars left over. He could save it or maybe buy a few clothes and other things he needed.

She went back into her office, but before she could tell Lila she was ready to see patients again, the phone rang. The number belonged to her mother.

“Hey, Mama , what’s up?”

Clariee De Luca laughed, which made Aria laugh too. Her happy mama laughed at anything and everything. “Lila called me and said Peaches’ friend had come to see her.”

Aria nodded even though her mother couldn't see her.

This week:

“He did. His name is Caleb Hawkins. You should have seen Peaches. When she saw him, she ran across the yard and knocked him over.”

“Did he look like a dangerous man?”

“No, Mama, he didn’t. In fact, I hired him to fill in for Melissa.”

“Then I want to meet him. Invite him to co me to dinner tomorrow night.”

Aria giggled. “Do you want me to come too, or do you just want Caleb?”

  1. Well that's a fun snippet! Should be an interesting dinner :) Enjoyed the excerpt! Putting on my admin hat for WeWriWa for just a moment, I didn't see that the link back to us was active? (Or the Sunday Snippet one either, tried both.) Maybe it's just my browser though.

  5. Oh, I love her mom! Trusting in her daughter’s judgment without hesitation. And wanting an eyeful of the hunky dude, of course.
