After dinner, he told his parents what he had decided, and he drove to the duplex. As he parked his car on the side of the road, he spotted Jenna West on her knees planting some flowers. In spite of himself, he noticed the way her jeans hugged her bottom and revealed some nice curves. Huh! He’d known a few guys in the army who had fallen for local women, but it had always ended badly. Ms. West could strip naked in front of him for all he cared.

He still wouldn’t pay her any attention. She stood and watched him as he walked down the sidewalk.
“Is the duplex still available, Ms. West?”
“Yes.”
“Well, if it’s okay I’d like to rent it.”
She nodded. “I have a child so no loud parties or noise after nine.”
“Fine.”
“I’ll need a deposit.”
“How much?”
“Six hundred.”

“Yes.”
