Blurb:
If up and coming realtor Holly Grant can buy Turnaround Farm for her client, her business will boom. Who says you have to have a man in your life to complete you? She’s fine as she is thank you very much. Her first problem is that Jeb Wakefield doesn’t want to sell his farm, and her second problem is Jeb’s grandson Dan, the finest looking man Holly’s ever seen.

Excerpt: Chapter One
Last week

“How do you ever expect to get married if you don’t look around a little?”

“I don’t want to get married.”

Jeb’s eyes widened. “Why not? Having a pretty woman to snuggle with would be a lot better than sleeping alone. I think you’d be a pretty good father too.”

Dan looked at him as if he’d suddenly sprouted hooves and a tail. “You must be joking! Me, a father? I’d never have a kid who might turn out like my dad.

This Week: We begin where we left off last week. Dan is speaking first.

  1. LOL - a happy ending whether he likes it or not :) This sounds like it's straying from honest helpfulness to the kind of interference that will cause longlasting resentment. He'd better tread carefully.

  2. I like the grandfather's heart but trying to fix someone else's life can be an iffy undertaking! And wow, Dan is sure jumping to conclusions, that the woman he might find wouldn't be perfectly capable of carrying her own weight and adding to the family's finances. "We barely make it with two people..." Um, yeah, so she might have a JOB of her own, dude LOL. Interesting snippet.

  3. Helping and interfering is a fine line. I'm curious to see where this will go.

  4. Ooh, a matchmaking grandpa. Interesting twist!

  5. The fact that he assumes a woman would be a financial burden rather than a potential source of income says a lot about his somewhat old-fashioned ideas.

  6. Yeah, what Ed said. I'm sure he'll figure that out along the way to happily every after, though.

    Grandpa cracks me up. :-)

  8. How sad. Poor Dan. He's making excuses but underneath I can feel his longing for a family. Grandpa has a good heart, but he can't make up for the past. Complicated.
