BLURB:

The next man in Macy Rollins’s life must be perfect. She’s had enough impostors and isn’t willing to settle for anything less. All she has to do is get through the company contract negotiation season and she will get that promotion she has been working so hard for. Avery Malveaux – one of Philadelphia’s most eligible bachelors – has been hired to work with her as legal counsel for the company. From the moment they are forced to work together tensions are high and expectations are low. He questions her ability, she questions his intentions. After Macy is suspected in an accounting shortage, she accuses Avery of betraying her confidence. Has she once again been deceived by a man she thought she could trust? Can she clear her name and win her job back? And can there be any hope for Macy’s pursuit of perfection.

EXCERPT:

He held her waist as they danced and pulled her closer. She fit into his arms, as if they were made for each other. “So, do you forgive me for my callous comment?” He tilted his head to look into her light brown eyes.

“I’ll think about it. I work very hard for English and wouldn’t do anything to put the contract negotiations at peril on purpose.”

“I get that. I was out of line.”

She nodded. Her eyes softened enough to let him know that hurdle was now behind him. He relaxed a little. Her long, regal neck, the soft feel of her skin, and the sparkle in her eyes made concentrating on his dance step impossible. Seeing her in a different environment made her seem like a different person. So why wasn’t she already taken?

The song ended, but he didn’t want to stop talking to her or let her disappear into the crowd. Not yet. There was no guarantee he’d get another opportunity to hold her this close again.

A Word From the Author:

1.Did you always want to be an author?
Yes, I’ve always wanted to write and I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember. Even while I was working as a Financial Manager, I wrote in the evenings and on weekends. I started out writing poems, then moved to short stories and then in 2010, I committed to writing a full novel.

2.Tell us about the publication of your first book.

I published my first book in 2012. I went to a writer’s conference in southern New Jersey and pitched a story to an editor at a small publishing company.  After I sent the story, I received an e-mail from the publisher saying she wasn’t interested in the women’s fiction, but she liked my voice and wanted to know if I had something else, I could submit.  Of course, I did and I sent them the romance -The Sweet Road Home- which I’d completed several months before. When I got the call from the publisher asking to buy the book, I was floored. I remember dancing around my kitchen flapping my arms. It was a magical day.

3.Besides yourself, who is your favorite author in the genre you write in?

Wow, that’s a tough question. It’s hard to pick just one. I remember stealing my mother’s romance books when I was a teenager and reading them, but back then I didn’t pay attention to who authored the book. But since you only asked for one, I’m going to say Brenda Jackson. She was one of the first romance writers, I read, and I fell in love with her style.

4.What's the best part of being an author? The worst?

The best part for me is creating the story. I get to make up all kinds of trouble and actions for my characters and that excites me. It’s a world I get to control. The worse part is keeping up with my deadlines. Writing under pressure isn’t easy, but I have to follow a schedule, even when staying on it is difficult.

5.What are you working on now?

I’m working on another romantic suspense that should be released later this year. It’s entitled Trouble In Paradise. It’s the second book in the Sebastian Island series. This one is a little more gritty than the first book in the series. Also, I’m working on a follow-up to In Pursuit of Perfection. It’s entitled In Pursuit of Payback.
