  2. Yes, he's in this whether he likes it or not.

  3. Too late to leave now. I like how you showed his cynicism, typical in law enforcement officers. So, what's he going to do now? Can't wait to find out.

  4. He's definitely in for it now, whatever may be going on. I'm curious about what else is happening in his life...so many threads to pull - great snippet!

  7. Yup. In for a penny or a pound, as they say (I don't know, do they still say that?). These excerpts are such a tease . . . in a good way.

  10. And he waited too late because he really wants to go with her. This is proving quite the adventure for both of them!

  11. Nice scene! I'm surprised that she said more than two words to him. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but the money is for charity?? If that's the case, the competitiveness is way over the top. If the contestants are personally winning the money, I could see why she's reacting this way. SO...I'm really wondering why she cares so deeply about winning the money unless her stakes are in some way personal...

Love the buildup of tension. And the fact that you have my wheels turning so hard trying to figure it all out says that you're doing a great job with this story!
