Saturday Sample and Weekend Writing Warriors: Never Trust a Pretty Wolf

Welcome to Saturday Sample and Weekend Writing Warriors. Today we'll continue to share excerpts from Never Trust a Pretty Wolf. On Sunday when you finish here, do go to http://www.wewriwa.blogspot.com for more excerpts from a bunch of great authors.

Blurb:
Liesel Wolf has a secret, a dangerous secret she’ll go to any lengths to conceal. When she’s paired in a charity game with sexy marshal Andy Bryce, a man with secrets of his own, her carefully constructed world comes crashing down, and Liesel’s on a collision course with her past.

Excerpt:
Chapter One

Last Week

This week: I'm picking up where we left off last week.

“Hurry up,” she snapped at Andy even though she had been the one to delay them.

For a moment he looked as if he’d snap back, but he held his tongue, then pushed past her up the trail. Pretty stupid since she held the GPS.

They climbed a trail studded with tree roots that had pushed up through the ground, giving them footholds on the slippery, red-clay path. The small trail passed through what looked to Liesel like virgin, hardwood forest. It was so narrow that when they met another group coming down they had to step off into the woods until the people passed.

Abruptly, the trail widened. Andy stopped so fast that Liesel barreled into his back, but he didn’t even budge. “Why did you stop?” she complained.

“Look.”

  10. Great details. It sounds like a great place to hike - assuming you're not on a mission like they are.
