Saturday Sample and Weekend Writing Warriors

Welcome to Saturday Sample and Weekend Writing Warriors. Today we'll continue to share excerpts from Never Trust a Pretty Wolf. On Sunday when you finish here, do go to http://www.wewriwa.blogspot.com for more excerpts from a bunch of great authors.

Blurb:
Liesel Wolf has a secret, a dangerous secret she’ll go to any lengths to conceal. When she’s paired in a charity game with sexy marshal Andy Bryce, a man with secrets of his own, her carefully constructed world comes crashing down, and Liesel’s on a collision course with her past.

Excerpt:
Chapter One

Last Week

“I doubt that. I don’t think there are any diamonds in the wilderness.”

Andy had the audacity to laugh at her. “This isn’t exactly wilderness. We’re only a few miles from the park nature center.

“Close enough. I doubt that we’ll find a store selling diamonds in the state park either.”

“You’re probably right about that, but chances are there’s a town or business nearby called Diamonds.”

Liesel thought for a moment. “Maybe the little store we saw at the campground sells minerals.

This week: I've picked up where we left off last week.  Liesel speaks first.

  1. Diamondback! What a great jump of logic. I wouldn't be putting my hand in there!

  2. If I had to put my hand in a rattlesnake cage, I would just go ahead and forfeit the game.

  3. Uh oh, SNAKES!!! My one phobia. They're on their own now LOL. Great snippet...

  4. I don't mind snakes, but not a rattlesnake. Hopefully the coordinates are on or in the cage that's visible without having to risk a bite. Nice snippet!

  5. No way would I put my hand in there! The slapping of the mosquito was a good touch, too. I hate those pesky insects.

  6. Snakes... why did it have to be snakes. OR... Asps. Very dangerous. You go first.

  7. Well, it's Liesel's idea. Does that mean she'll get to do the honors?

  8. I like the clues and their line of reasoning! I don't think I'm putting my hand in a snake cage... best of luck to them though!
