Snippet Sunday and Weekend Writing Warriors

Welcome to Snippet Sunday and Weekend Writing Warriors, your chance to sample the work of a talented group of authors. When you finish here, you can find more excerpts at http://www.wewriwa.com and https://www.facebook.com/groups/SnippetSunday/

I've been sharing excerpts from Return Engagement. To recap, my hero and heroine have accidentally met on a beach ten years after his father broke them up. To say they have unfinished business is an understatement. They've gone to a beach-side cafe for hot dogs, and now they're on their way to an amusement park. He took her hand last week.

They had only gone a little way when he drew her against his side and put his arm around her. Really! I shouldn’t have held hands with him, she thought. What was I thinking?

Before she could scold him Richard came to a stop. Her knees started to shake as his eyes bored into hers. “Are you going to slap my face if I try to kiss you? I hate getting slapped, but I’m having a hard time keeping my hands to myself. ”

A heady sense of feminine power rose up in Elizabeth and almost made her heart bounce out of her chest. Richard Lovinggood wanted to kiss her!

  12. Oh, pooh... Smoochies already? I want to feel that hint of him being teased and frustrated just that little bit longer. ;-)

(what can I say... I know there's trouble brewing with the fiance and the mother, and I just want our girl to come out of it as clearly as she can... and if nothing actually happened, then it's all the better)

  14. Well he certainly is honest, lol. I think she is feeling heady because she realizes the power she now yields.

  15. Kissing him while engaged to another is dangerous stuff, especially in public. Though I guess kissing in private might be even more dangerous!
