Blurb:
If up and coming realtor Holly Grant can buy Turnaround Farm for her client, her business will boom. Who says you have to have a man in your life to complete you? She’s fine as she is thank you very much. Her first problem is that Jeb Wakefield doesn’t want to sell his farm, and her second problem is Jeb’s grandson Dan, the finest looking man Holly’s ever seen.

Excerpt: Chapter One
Last week
Since most women seem to want kids, that rules out marriage. I can’t afford to get married anyway. We can barely make it with two people in the house. We don’t need three.”

Jeb continued his work in silence, but his mind darted from one possibility to another. If Dan wouldn’t help himself, his grandfather would have to do it for him. He had had to stand by and watch Kyle ruin his life, but if he had anything to say about it, Dan would get a happy ending.

This Week: Loretta and Holly are talking while the Wakefields are in the barn.

“Your grandmother wasn’t too happy about us staying the night with the Wakefields,” Loretta said as she finished washing the last of the dishes. She folded the dishcloth across the faucet to dry and sat near the fire with Holly.

Holly smiled at the mention of her grandmother.“You know Nana; she’s a worrywart. I think it’s the best thing that could have happened. Jeb’ll listen to my offer because he’s too polite to tell me to shut up.”

“Dan may tell you to shut up.”

Holly shot an exasperated stare Loretta’s way. “While we’re on that subject, why didn’t you tell me he’s so goodlooking? He may be rude, but he’s awfully cute.”

  2. Well cute doesn't excuse rude but I do like that she's keeping an open mind so far. Great snippet!

  3. Beauty is as beauty does--paraphrase. I wouldn't find him cute if he were that nasty. Maybe she'll see past his brusque attitude.

  4. Who cares if he's cute when he's rude? That would be a big turn off to me. I'm curious to find out how this will go.

    Great snippet.

  5. Her emphasis on the importance of his looks says more about her than him. She likes him, I think!

  6. Haha! What a combination--rude and cute--and she sure wasn't ready for that. :-)

  7. LOL! Good way to end and argument. Maybe Ben and her grandma need to meet . . .
