Saturday Sample and Weekend Writing Warriors: Never Trust a Pretty Wolf

Welcome to Saturday Sample and Weekend Writing Warriors. Today we'll continue to share excerpts from Never Trust a Pretty Wolf. On Sunday when you finish here, do go to http://www.wewriwa.blogspot.com for more excerpts from a bunch of great authors.

Blurb:
Liesel Wolf has a secret, a dangerous secret she’ll go to any lengths to conceal. When she’s paired in a charity game with sexy marshal Andy Bryce, a man with secrets of his own, her carefully constructed world comes crashing down, and Liesel’s on a collision course with her past.

Excerpt:
Chapter One

Last Week
“Fine.”

Ms. Wolf nodded and left the dining room with swift,
confident strides and never once looked back or said goodbye. Pity her mother never taught her any manners.
****
Liesel roared down the driveway in the Mustang. The horses near the rock wall snorted in alarm and cantered away, their manes and tails flying in the wind. She knew she shouldn’t have agreed to play this stupid game. No matter how much she wanted to win that million dollars, she shouldn’t have let her guard down.

She jerked at the clip that held her hair in place and allowed her curls to tumble around her shoulders. Was it too late to cancel? Probably.

This week: In Liesel's POV

  5. Pretty detailed evaluation of his person for her to be totally unaffected. Worried about a Marshall, heh? She's after the prize . . . for herself?

  9. Well, she's certainly checked him out thoroughly. (Great description, BTW) But it's the fact that he's a marshal that turns her off or frightens her. So what has she done that she wants nothing to do with the law? Great snippet! Can't wait for more!
