Beyond the Book: Turnaround Farm

Welcome to Beyond the Book. Turnaround Farm which is one of my all time favorite books released last September 1 from Wings ePress. I thought today I'd share a blurb and a short excerpt with you. The book is a Kindle Unlimited title available at https://wingsepress.com/turnaround-farm/

Blurb:

Dedicated career girl Holly Grant has no time for romance. She doesn’t need a man to complete her, thank you very much. Building Grant Realty takes all of her time and attention. If she can close a deal for Turnaround Farm her business will take off like a rocket. Her first problem is that Jeb Wakefield doesn’t want to sell his farm, and her second problem is Jeb’s grandson Dan, the finest looking man Holly’s ever seen.

Last Week
Holly enjoyed the game, but it was hard to concentrate on cards with Dan Wakefield at the table. Whether she wanted to admit it or not, the man was gorgeous. No wonder she was doing so badly. Hmm. Dan wasn’t doing any better than she was. He was a terrible card player.

Holly waited until they finished their game to bring up business. She replaced the cards in the box and smiled at Jeb. “Mr. Wakefield, I really would like to show you
the proposal I brought with me. My client’s offer is incredibly generous.”

Hostility returned to Dan’s face in a rush. “Turnaround Farm isn’t for sale.”

This week: We've picked up where we left off last week.

Blurb:
If up and coming realtor Holly Grant can buy Turnaround Farm for her client, her business will boom. Who says you have to have a man in your life to complete you? She’s fine as she is thank you very much. Her first problem is that Jeb Wakefield doesn’t want to sell his farm, and her second problem is Jeb’s grandson Dan, the finest looking man Holly’s ever seen.

Excerpt: Chapter One
Last week

“I never thought I’d live to see this day.” Loretta chuckled as she and Holly struggled to get warm in the icy gloom of their dark bedroom.

Holly held up her hand to see if she could see it. She couldn’t. Why didn’t the Wakefields have a nightlight? This dense, suffocating darkness took her breath away.“What are you going on about, Loretta? I’m freezing to death up here, and now I’ve got to listen to you.”

Holly couldn’t see Loretta’s face, but she could hear the smile in her voice. “Holly Grant, business woman, dedicated career girl, passes up the chance to make a sales pitch just so she can get a date with a man.”

It galled Holly to admit that her annoying assistant was right.

This Week: We're picking up where we left off last week.

If she had kept quiet in the kitchen, Jeb would have looked at her proposal tonight. Going to the horse show just because Dan Wakefield was so drop dead gorgeous reminded her of something her mother, Rita, might have done, and she’d rather die than be like her mother. “You deserve to be fired for that,” she groused.

“But you won’t fire me, will you?” Loretta giggled. “Nobody else would put up with you. Oh, and Holly, I don’t think it was my imagination that made me think you were sniffing his clothes. Were you hoping to find out how he smells?”

“No! For the love of goodness, let me go to sleep.”
