The Rise of the Last Beast Kingdom

<

This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. Loves GOD will be awarding a $75 Amazon or B/N GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour. Click on the tour banner to see the other stops on the tour.

Enslaved by a system of its own creation, humankind desperately seeks to free itself from the Beast. Lacking the knowledge, having refused the truth, all hope is gone…or is it?

Examining our history from creation to the present, this book provides insight as to why we are where we are today. Using the Hebrew Scriptures as its guide, we are taken from the cause of our plight to the ultimate ending. Although the Hebrew Scriptures are used, this is not a book supporting any major religion. There are only a few people in the world today who actually follow and obey the WORD of God – YeHoVaH. Most of the world follows man made religious practices. This book explains how this came about and how the present day systems evolved. This book provides a means for hope for the world, something surely needed now and especially in the coming days.

The archeological evidence which is currently being discovered support what we are told in the Bible. The site Tel Eridu currently known as Abu Shahrain has been identified as the ancient site of Eridu. The findings in chronological order are consistent with the biblical narrative - Founded by the strong leader of the period who introduced the worship of a new god, came to dominate the region, began the building of large temple-Tower of Babel-to a new deity which was abandoned, as was the area and surrounding areas were afterwards abandoned. Archeologists have noted these facts.

It has also been noted by the archeological studies that what is known as “the Uruk expansion” began at the time Eridu was abandoned – at the time YeHoVaH confused the Language and spread the peoples out of the areas they had settled before the confusion. Archeological findings indicate a period of rapid decay occurring after the Late Uruk expansion and the rise of the cities throughout the Mesopotamian region.

After the Confusion of Language, Eridu was abandoned for hundreds of years.

This coincided with the Uruk expansion. Archeologists have found the spread of the Uruk and its successor culture Jemdet Nasr spreading from lower Mesopotamia (Shinar) to areas throughout Mesopotamia and beyond.

The descendents of Noah continued to spread out across the globe after the Confusion of Language, spreading and developing various cultures as they went. As we are told in the Bible, the sons of Noah and their descendants each spread in different directions, although it must be understood that there was mixing of the various clans from the beginning. Erudu was later reestablished after the 750 years absence.

About the Author:
As a child in elementary school, only attending church on Easter, the author did not feel strange when getting down on their knees and praying to GOD. Entering high school, the pull to understand GOD became greater and greater. A study of various religious books began - the Bible, Islam, eastern religions and thoughts were all examined. After reading the Hebrew Bible and particularly Isaiah 56:7 - “I will bring them to my holy mountain and make them joyful in my house of prayer; their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”

The author determined that the GOD of the Hebrew Bible was in fact GOD. The author then began following the Hebrew traditions.

After earning an undergraduate degree from an Ivy League University and a law degree, the author began a successful law practice, joining the ranks of the millionaire’s club while living in Brentwood, CA near Beverly Hills. Life continued with marriage by a Rabbi and a family - until disaster hit. Business fell apart and bankruptcy left the author with nothing except faith in GOD which continued. A period of moving back and forth across the USA, 6 times in 8 years, finally resulted in settlement in the eastern USA. Upon finally deciding to stay in the east, one last trip was needed to the west by the author. During this trip, GOD brought an understanding to the author which changed everything and led to the writing of this book.

BLURB:

Art expert Emma Kelly arrives at the Metropolitan Museum to meet with disgraced philanthropist Boyle York only to learn he has been murdered. His body and a nearby masterpiece are splattered with blue paint. In the following days, works of art around the world are attacked with the same paint, which Emma believes has something to do with the Virgin Mary. Emma’s husband, Elliott Baldwin, the Assistant Director in charge of the FBI’s New York City field office, isn’t convinced but appreciates her expertise.

Following a lead, Emma travels to her other home in Bath, England, and continues her search for one of the most famous Nazi-looted paintings. When a diver hired to explore a sunken Nazi submarine is murdered with the same weapon used to kill  Boyle York, Emma wonders if the art crimes on three different continents are actually an attempt to trip her up.

Emma races against the clock to countries with Virgin Mary apparition sites in an attempt to save the world’s most beloved artwork. Can she convince the Vatican to disavow the perpetrators and stop the attacks and bring justice to the mastermind behind them before it’s too late?

EXCERPT

Monday in Manhattan

Everybody had a story and then another story. Even the police. I stood at the Metropolitan Museum entrance, shifting my weight from one foot to the other, relying on that philosophy to help me figure out how to get what I wanted. Left. I considered my predicament. My meeting with a potential client was to start in five minutes, but the yellow crime scene tape strung along the portico was uninterested. Right. I studied the NYPD officers lined up guarding the doors from people like me. I would plead my case to one of them. It was a matter of choosing the right one. One had a story that would make him or her more likely to let me in so I could be on time for my meeting.

I wasn’t the only person with a mission, standing outside the Met that day. A month ago, in mid-March, a hundred or so protestors had taken over the iconic steps. They came and they stayed. They were angry and united in their desire for the Met to cut all ties with the man I was there to meet. He was the president of the co-op board for a building, less than a quarter mile away, that became a death trap in one of the worst high-rise apartment fires in Manhattan’s history. According to their posters, many were relatives of the hundred plus people who had lost their life that day. Depending on which newspaper you read, the deaths were either due to the board’s misguided choices to keep homeowner fees low to help the senior citizens living at The Henckley Tower, or because for years the building’s managers had intentionally misled city inspectors. I hoped my theory about everyone having a story and then another story would hold fast, but neither view redeemed billionaire philanthropist Boyle York.

Beyond the Book: Book Review of the Tempe Crabtree Series

Book Blurb:

A candidate for princess is murdered at a Native American pow wow while Tempe Crabtree is working there in her capacity as deputy. Tempe’s investigation takes her onto the Bear Creek Indian Reservation. Her search for the killer puts her job in jeopardy, strains her marriage, and almost gets her killed.

My Review

Tempe Crabtree is a deputy in the small community of Bear Creek. She’s part native American, but she doesn’t know much about her heritage. Her first husband was a state trooper who was killed in the line of duty. She has one son who was two when her husband died. He’s a teenager now. Tempe recently married the minister of Bear Creek’s church.

Deadly Omen is the first book in the Tempe Crabtree mystery series. There are a total of 19 books in the series. The books aren’t too long, most seem to be around 225 pages, and they are easy, quick reads. They seem well written and well edited even though I did find a couple of mistakes. Nothing much and certainly nothing to pull you out of the story. From the beginning of the book I liked Tempe and her family. I also liked the way she portrayed Bear Creek. It sounds like it would be a nice place to live even though people do seem to get murdered a lot. The other characters in the book are very nicely done as well. I enjoyed that the author blended in some Native American traditions. I felt that it added to Tempe’s story and made her even more fleshed out. Once I get started on one of the Tempe Crabtree books I’m in a hurry to find out who the murderer really is, so I keep turning pages when I should be doing something else.

If you’re a fan of what amounts to a cozy mystery, I highly recommend this series. I think I’m on book 7 now. Do you like the sound of the series? Is it anything you think you’d enjoy?

The Accidental Detective Series

This post is part of a virtual book tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions. Kris Bock will be awarding Ebook copies of the first four books in the Accidental Detective Series - Something Shady at Sunshine Haven and Something Deadly on Desert Drive (out now), plus early copies of books 3 and 4, Someone Cruel in Coyote Creek (not available publicly until September 29, 2022) and Someone Missing from Malapais Mountain (not available publicly until February 28, 2023) - to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour. The Accidental Detective book 1: Something Shady at Sunshine Haven

Injured in a bombing, Kate returns to her hometown in Arizona with new scars, a limp, and pain meds that give her brain fog. For the first time in her life, she's starting to feel her age (49), even though she's living like a teenager again: staying with her father, trying to understand why her sister resents her so much, and running into old friends who still think of her as Kitty.

Seeing her mother in an Alzheimer's unit is the hardest part – until an old friend asks her to investigate suspicious deaths at that nursing home. Is a self-appointed "Angel of Mercy" killing patients to end their suffering? Are family members hastening their inheritance? Is an employee extorting money and killing the witnesses? Kate uses her journalism skills to track clues, but the puzzle pieces simply won't fit. If Kate can't uncover the truth, her mother could be next on the killer's list.

Kate has followed the most dangerous news stories around the world. But can she survive going home?

The Accidental Detective book 2: Something Deadly on Desert Drive

Starting over at fifty might be hard, but it shouldn’t be deadly…

Still recovering from an injury that might have permanently derailed her career as an international war correspondent, Kate Tessler is living in her childhood bedroom and pondering her second act when another case lands in her lap. Kate’s father and his coffee group are worried. Their friend Larry married a younger woman who now insists he has dementia and won’t let any of his friends visit. They’re convinced that Larry’s wife and her two adult, dead-beat kids are out to steal his money. Can Kate help?

Soon Kate and her unusual gang of sidekicks are unofficially, officially investigating. But before they can dig out the truth, a murder raises the stakes. Now they need to prove Larry is both mentally competent and not a killer. They’ll have to find the real murderer—without risking their own lives in the process.

Praise Something Deadly

“I had such a lovely day reading your story. I could barely put it down. I am still in awe of how you manage to wrangle these three generations of sleuths without every going over the top or relying on stereotypes or cliches, and of course watching Kate start to come to terms both with her disability and potential inability to ever fully heal as well as her new life, aging, being back home again and reconnecting with her family—all while solving two crimes—definite multi-tasker! The story was so engaging and quite clever.” – Sinclair Jayne, author

Read an Excerpt from Something Shady at Sunshine Haven

I put a hand on Tommy’s wheelchair and leaned down. “I’ll tell you all about it sometime, if I can. But for now, please pretend we’ve only been chatting about times long past.”

Mendelson joined us, his hands on his hips. “Miss Tessler, I see you’re here again. I hope you aren’t bothering the residents with your questions.”

“I prefer Ms. Tessler, and I was having a lovely chat with a very interesting man.”

I spotted Mrs. Gregorian and her family. I’d probably learned all I could from them about Mrs. Gregorian’s illness and recovery, but if Mrs. Gregorian was one of the overmedicated patients, that opened up a new line of questioning.

And another thing: Mom had gotten worried about money shortly after seeing Mrs. Gregorian. Could that have been the neighbor she meant, the one who claimed she’d been asked for more money? Could “Mr. Brown—no, Mr. Rogers” actually be Mendelson, the memory care program coordinator? He’d been wearing a brown button-up sweater, so maybe that triggered Mom’s memory but sent it in the wrong direction.

I turned to Tommy. “It was lovely talking to you. I hope we’ll meet again when I’m here visiting my mother. I need to speak to some other new friends now.”

Mendelson scowled and shuffled his feet.

I grinned. “Have a great day.”

I felt his gaze on me as I turned to cross the room.

Between the residents, visiting family members, therapy dogs, and their handlers, the spacious room was a swirl of activity. I waited for a woman using a walker to cross in front of me. My leg ached, so I shifted more of my weight onto my good leg and the cane. A man to my right half turned, gesturing wildly with his arms while he told a story. I flinched back to avoid being hit.

Something slammed into my left leg. I grunted in pain as my leg collapsed. My cane swung upward, goosing the gesturing man and tangling in his legs.

The next thing I knew, I was sitting on the floor in a heap.

After being ditched at the altar, Emmy Shaw’s heart, like her dented food truck, is definitely not open for business. Deeply in debt to her parents and evicted from her apartment, she takes a friend’s drunken dare and fills out an application for a new dating-adventure reality show. She never expects to be chosen—or to get a chance at the show’s huge cash prize, which could put her life back on track.

But when she’s abandoned in the middle of the jungle two months later wearing only a bathing suit and a backpack, she questions if being on the show might be even worse than the #emmytrashtruck hate brigade she left back home. Then she meets her fellow cast members—including sexy, inscrutable Wes—and starts to reconsider, wondering if maybe money’s not all she stands to gain from this experience.

After a year of abysmal failures, this summer of cave treks, jungle hikes, impromptu talent shows, and a sexy flirtmance turns out to be just the thing to help Emmy rebuild her shattered confidence. She signed up for the show to hide from the mess her life had become, but this escape from reality might be just what she needs to find herself.

Everyone looks amazing as we wait in the field, which has been transformed into the elimination pavilion. There’s a wooden platform where we all stand, men on one side, women on the other, backed by a large wall with an enormous heart made of roses. Kip stands before us, his teeth stark white even in the dark, with a large pink trunk next to him. Off to the side is a gazebo ringed with flowers and fairy lights and boasting a large sign that reads LOVE SHACK.

The producers had already explained some of what to expect tonight, but for the sake of the viewers, Kip goes over the rules with us while the cameras roll. The longer he talks, the more jittery I get, and I know I’m not the only one. Sweat trickles down the small of my back and behind my knees, and my stomach keeps trying to claw its way up my esophagus. I’ve been here an entire week and we’ve yet to have a challenge with a cash prize, and I really don’t want to leave with nothing.

“Tonight is the first ever Big Wild Love Adventure Re-Pairing Ceremony,” Kip solemnly informs the camera. “Earlier today, the contestants secretly cast their votes about whether or not to re-pair with their current partner. If they both choose to re-pair, they’ll automatically go to the Love Shack. If one or both choose not to re-pair, they’ll remain in the dating pool.”

It finally dawns on me that the pavilion floor has been painted with high gloss blue shellac to represent water. Flames from nearby tiki torches reflect off its surface, bringing it to life. Around us, the jungle murmurs quietly, like it too, is trying to figure out just what the hell we’re all doing here.

Saturday Sample and Weekend Writing Warriors

Welcome to my blog. Today I'd like to share an excerpt from my all time favorite book Blue 52. On Sunday when you finish here you can go to www.wewriwa.blogspot.com for more excerpts from a talented group of authors.

Blurb:

First Lady Kills President Lovinggood"

December 5, 2018

Thirty years later, Hank Lovinggood embarks on a quest to prove his mother's innocence and punish the killers who took his family from him. Together Hank and lovely physicist Dr. Kathryn Sinclair confront an implacable, twisted, and merciless enemy who'll do whatever it takes to hide the truth forever.

Last Week's Excerpt:

Slamming the door behind him, Hank returned to his own room where he belonged and hunted for a clean shirt. Not that I exactly need a clean shirt, but going to the cemetery made me feel dirty.

Now why would he feel dirty? His parents should rest easy in the peaceful, quiet cemetery.

I wonder if it’s too late to call Williams. Probably not. He picked up his holophone, and almost immediately a hologram of Williams filled the room.

“Hello, Mr. Lovinggood. Did your grandfather tell you I called?”

“Yes, he did. That’s what I’m calling about. I’ve decided to place my parents at Crystal Rivers Cemetery.”

Williams nodded. “I’m familiar with Crystal Rivers. It’s a good choice.”

“My grandfather said they’ll be disinterred on November twenty-third.”

Williams nodded again. “Yes, sir. We’ll do it at nine a.m. on November twenty-third. I assume you’ll want to have someone present."

“I intend to be present myself.”

“Oh, well, that’s fine. We’ll have a military guard to escort the president’s remains to his new resting place, but we weren’t sure if you’d want any further ceremony or not.”

Hank didn’t hesitate. The media would inevitably make a huge deal out of this thing anyway. If they had any kind of ceremony, it would be that much worse. I have no desire to hear the newscasters talk about Mother. “I may have a private service for family members, but that’s all.”

“The state is responsible for the cost of opening and closing the graves, so I’ll arrange it with Crystal Rivers.”

“Good,” Hank said. “Tell them to prepare for burial on the twenty-fourth. I’ll let them know what time.”

“The twenty-fourth?” He saw surprise on Williams’ face.

Blurb Blitz: Sweetwater Promise by January Bain

SweetwaterPromise

            sweet romance

June 6 - June 24

            Welcome to Sweetwater, North Dakota,

a town with a guaranteed happy ever after in every story.

“You, Daisey Rose Winslow, are good enough, smart enough, pretty enough. Giving up on your goals is like slashing all your tires after getting one flat.” I pointed at the reflection of myself in the window of Joy’s All Things Christmas Shoppe, practicing a new life affirmation I’d read online just this morning. I shook my head. “Nah, I like yesterday’s better. Excuse me, I have to go be awesome.” At least that one made me smile.

Joy Watson waved at me through the window, holding a spectacular blown glass angel that sparkled in the overhead lighting, its wings appearing alive as it twirled from her fingertips. I waved back and nodded with approval, placing a hand over my heart for emphasis. No matter what happened in the next few months, I’d be back in December. The town might be quaint, and I rail against it when it tugs me too close, but it’s the place to be at Christmastime.

I resumed jogging down Main Street, keeping alert for any stray exercisers barreling my way. It just takes being mowed down once to make you leave your iPod at home and listen to the world with unimpeded hearing. A robin erupted into song from its perch on the wrought iron flagpole in front of the hardware store, apparently agreeing with me on the awesomeness of nature sounds. And definitely no selfie sticks for this female. Last thing I needed was a photo of my sweaty, red-faced person slogging it out on a morning run.

Ah, the delectable scent of cinnamon, brown sugar, and apples baking drew me toward the Prairie Rose Café. I stopped for a sec on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant and gazed around my home town of Sweetwater, North Dakota. The town had never looked prettier, nestled as it was on the banks of the meandering Red River in its summer coat of fresh, vibrant flowers and deep green foliage. The sun added an extra rosy glow this morning, creating prisms of rainbows on dew-damped grass. Squint just right and your fingers fairly itched to pick up a few and stash them away. My grandma always accused me of having a romantic soul and I wasn’t one to prove her wrong.

Shirley Johnson was busy sweeping the steps outside the post office with a straw broom, raising little puffs of white dust. The line of sight took me right to the poster of a covered wagon someone had pasted onto the red brick. Excitement bubbled up inside me for this coming week. Our town was having its first re-enactment of a homesteaders’ journey, using replica Prairie Schooners. I’m a die-hard romantic about the old west. Well, except for the long skirts, no indoor plumbing, and the dearth of food deliveries from friends and family I’ve counted on all my life.

Setting aside the slight twinge of worry about my ability to do our town proud, I pushed open the front door of the café and went inside.

“Morning,” I said, plunking myself down in the booth opposite my cousin.

“Hey, Daisey.” She scarcely gave me a glance, staring at her iPhone like it contained all the secrets of the universe. Well, maybe it did. We have excellent wi-fi service in Sweetwater, a factor that might come into play when I sell the parcel of land so kindly willed to me and which I couldn’t offload for a whole year after my grandma passed on. With forty-nine of those fifty-two weeks having also passed on, that was going to change. Big time.

“You know,” I said, “I’m beginning to feel like George Bailey in It’s A Wonderful Life. My life is always holding something back, holding me back, but this time, I’ve made up my mind. I’m heading to New York no matter what happens, when the next three weeks are up.”

Rose, as much of an old movie freak as I am, quirked an eyebrow in my direction while continuing to thumb through her messages. “Bedford Falls loved George and saved his heinie when push came to shove,” she reminded me. “Same as Sweetwater would do for any of us in a heartbeat. Now, New York?” Her nose wrinkled. “Can’t see that happening.”

I drummed my fingers on the snowy white tablecloth embroidered with pink roses. “New York has far more opportunities.”

“Sweetwater has more time for people.”

“New York offers more freedom.”

“Sweetwater has more people who care about you.”

No denying that. I swear this town has its own beating heart and it echoes deep inside all of us, keeping us here or calling us home. Maybe we lived on a Ley Line that gifted the land with magnetic energy? Or not. Whatever, something special always happened in Sweetwater. Just had to look at the Wall of Fame in Al’s office to know that.

That reminded me. “Guess what? Al wants me to report on the greased pig event again this year, with the ‘expected attention to detail.’” He complained that my scant twelve words devoted to celebrating the pig’s win last year—though quite poetic—had left something to be desired. I thought I’d nailed it when the pig escaped through the fence and proceeded to make his way into a neighboring corn field. And this little piggy said wee-wee-wee, all the way home.
