Beyond the Book: Turnaround Farm

Welcome to Beyond the Book. Turnaround Farm which is one of my all time favorite books released last September 1 from Wings ePress. I thought today I'd share a blurb and a short excerpt with you. The book is a Kindle Unlimited title available at https://wingsepress.com/turnaround-farm/

Blurb:

Dedicated career girl Holly Grant has no time for romance. She doesn’t need a man to complete her, thank you very much. Building Grant Realty takes all of her time and attention. If she can close a deal for Turnaround Farm her business will take off like a rocket. Her first problem is that Jeb Wakefield doesn’t want to sell his farm, and her second problem is Jeb’s grandson Dan, the finest looking man Holly’s ever seen.

Last Week:
How does she do that? My mind’s going in circles thinking about Dan Wakefield because...because he’s so...sexy, she admitted, alarmed at the direction her thoughts had taken. Her face burned in the dark as she imagined how it might feel to kiss him. His lips looked just right for kissing.

Uneasily, she flipped over in the bed. His shirt was awful, though. Loving clothes the way she did, she wouldn’t be caught dead in a rag like that, but it did look good on Dan. He had a big bloodstain and a tear on the back of his shirt, so he probably hurt himself in the barn. Looks like he would have changed it before dinner.

She imagined herself unbuttoning Dan’s flannel shirt and took firm rein on her libido. She hadn’t built Grant Realty into a thriving enterprise by acting like a sex- starved old maid. If you give your heart to another person, you deserve all the hurt you’ll get. If it kills me, I’m going to sleep. It took a while, but Holly finally dropped into an uneasy slumber.

This week: We've picked up where we left off last week.

Across the hall, Dan turned over yet again and stifled a groan when he thought of Holly Grant sleeping in the next room. Hard, physical labor usually made it easy for him to fall asleep, but tonight he imagined that even through two closed doors, he could still smell the faint, subtle floral fragrance of her perfume.

She was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen.Tall too. He could kiss her by simply lowering his head. His breath quickened. Holly had enough curves to prove she was a woman, not a boy. Bet her skin felt as soft as a kitten’s fur. He’d always had a thing for blondes.

A mental image of Holly, warm and submissive in his arms, presented itself. The image clarified, and he saw she was naked and ready to love him.

A heat wave swept him from head to toe in spite of the frigid room. I’m a fool. She wants Turnaround Farm, not me, and even if she did want me, it wouldn’t matter. I don’t have a future to offer any woman. He sighed. I refuse to embarrass myself by losing my head and acting like a fool.
He pounded his pillow into shape and forced his tight muscles to relax. Gradually he fell into a light, fitful sleep.
