Beyond the Book: Darkness At Foxglove Corners

I learned about the author Dorothy Bodoin when I submitted some of my books to Wings ePress. I liked that Wings automatically publishes books in both ebook and print when they first come out. I also liked Wings because they often come up with plans to help their authors.

I didn’t read Ms. Bodoin’s work until a few weeks ago. Wings authors were notified that she was in the hospital, and several days later she passed away. I took a look at her books and found that the Foxglove Corners mystery series had 34 titles in it. I decided I’d try one.

I only wish that I had read the books earlier so I could tell Ms. Bodoin how much I liked them. The books are a mixture of romance, suspense, and cozy mystery, and they have dogs in them. To an animal lover like me it sounded ideal. So far I’ve read six of them. The writing is smooth, the editing looked good to me, and I found that I liked the main characters. There was one character who gave me pause, but the author fixed that in subsequent novels. Actually, I liked the secondary characters too. It’s fun to see characters you know return in the author’s next book. All in all, I’ve enjoyed all of the books. They’re quick, easy to read works that usually keep you guessing. I’ll share the blurb from the first book, which is pictured above. If you decide to check them out, I hope you like them as much as I do. Oh. My favorite so far is The Snow Collies of Lost Lake.

Blurb:

The little town of Foxglove Corners offers tornado survivor Jennet Greenway country peace and a new romance, but the secret of the yellow Victorian house across the lane holds a threat to her new life.

Can Jennet solve its mysteries in time to avert another disaster?
