Snippet Sunday and Weekend Writing Warriors

Welcome to Snippet Sunday and Weekend Writing Warriors, your chance to sample the work of a talented group of authors. If you're an author yourself, take a look at the Happy Holiday Hop in the right sidebar. I'd love for you to join the hop. Email me for an instruction sheet. This is super easy and fast. My email is elainecsc@aol.com

I've been sharing samples from The Captain and the Cheerleader. So far we know that Susan English, a teacher at Fairfield High, bet another teach $50 that she can make the football coach ask her out. Some the teachers have also gotten in on the bet. They are still in the teacher's lounge when the football coach, Kurt, enters the room and asks them why they were all so quiet.

Susan spoke up before anyone else could answer. “Oh, we were talking about the game tonight. Are we going to beat Middleton?”

Kurt grinned and made Susan’s heart pick up a little speed. Bet every other woman in the room had the same reaction. Could any woman alive resist Kurt Deveraux’s smile?

Kurt shrugged. “Just between ourselves, we’re going to get our butts kicked, but the boys will do their best, so if we lose, we lose. We don’t have the talent that Middleton does.”

Susan stared straight into those beautiful blue eyes; “You’ve done everything you can to get them ready.

That's a scary bet to make! I have a feeling he won't make it too easy for her to win. :-)

Hey Elayne, I'm here as a moderator today, and couldn't find your link back to Wewriwa. Could you fix that? That'd be awesome! A gambling man, hmm?

What fun! This is like high school drama for adults, and I love it! Can't wait for next week. :-)

An exciting time in the teacher's lounge and what happens next with the handsome coach and the bet. Fun and games with the faculty.

I love his honesty about them getting their butts kicked.

I admire his attitude. He's not the sort that screams at students for losing.

Hum, that's nice. I know what she wants with him but I wonder if going at it through the team is a good strategy. I hope she shows up at the game.
