Welcome to Snippet Sunday. In this excerpt, my hero and heroine meet the man they suspect of killing the president and his wife who were Hank's parents. You can find more snippets at https://www.facebook.com/groups/SnippetSunday/
The cold rain emptied the cemetery as people ran for their cars. As Hank and Kathryn jogged around a tall hedge, Kathryn barreled into a group of four men who also seemed in a hurry to get out of the rain. “Oh, excuse me,” she cried.
To Hank’s surprise, one of the men whirled around and shoved her backwards. She stumbled and would have fallen if he hadn’t caught her arm. “Hey, watch what you’re doing,” he roared. “It was an accident; she said she was sorry.”
The man who had shoved Kathryn advanced toward Hank, but he backed off when a voice Hank would never forget called, “My men were only doing their job, Dr. Sinclair.”
“Who…”
“It’s Josh Stanton,” Hank interrupted, his chest filling with both fire and ice at the same time.
