Weekend Writing Warriors and Snippet Sunday

Welcome to Snippet Sunday and Weekend Writing Warriors, your chance to sample the work of a talented group of authors. When you finish here, you can find more snippets at:

My excerpt today is from Return Engagement. In this excerpt, my hero and heroine have met at the beach after a ten year separation orchestrated by Richard's father who didn't think Elizabeth was good enough for his son. Elizabeth speaks first.

"I could always tell what you were feeling by your eyes.”

“What do you see in my eyes right now?”

Elizabeth didn’t stop to think. If she had she wouldn’t have done it. She reached across the table and gently touched his cheek. She’d guess from the scratchy stubble on his face that he hadn’t shaved since early morning. Her heart almost stopped when she heard Richard catch his breath. He picked up her hand and held it to his face for a moment before bringing it to his lips.

  3. They are really like falling in love all over again. It's a little scary for the life they built separately so far.
