During the month of December my characters take over my blog. Let's see what they're up to.
Elizabeth: (Return Engagement) This is our last day at Elaine's blog.
Nikki: (The Best Selling Toy of the Season) I know. We'll have to wait another whole year to come back.
Prince Alan: (The Enchanted) Perhaps Madame will ask you to pay her a visit during the coming year.
Nikki: Well I hope so. What are we doing today?
Prince Alan: We are sharing an excerpt from Blue 52. It is one of Madame's greatest masterpieces.
Elizabeth: It's about my son too.
Prince Alan: Then let us begin at once.
The senator called for the coffee as Hank threw himself down on the sofa. “Uh oh, I sat on a folder.
You ought to keep stuff on your computer, Grandpa.” He pulled the folder from under his hip and looked at it. “What is this? It has Kathryn’s name on it.”
“I forgot to put it away. Let me have it.”
“In a minute.” Hank opened the folder and scanned its contents. “So you investigated Kathryn even after I told you it wasn’t necessary.” He detected no repentance on his grandfather’s face.
“I’m sorry you saw it. I didn’t want you to know about the investigation, but I make no apologies for trying to protect my family. I’ve done it before, and I’ll do it again if necessary. In my opinion it was a good move.”
“But why?” Hank slapped the folder down on the coffee table. “I told you we aren’t interested in each other.”
The senator counted the reasons. “First, she tried to sell us an incredible bill of goods. I wanted to know if she had the credentials to back up her claim. Second, I wanted to be sure she isn’t connected in some way to Stanton, Glass, or Tate, and third, I saw your face when you kissed her. Whether you want to admit it or not, you’re attracted to her, so I wanted to know about her family.”
Hank froze. “If I were interested in her, it wouldn’t be any of your business, would it?”
Senator Lovinggood looked at him as if he were a schoolboy caught in some mischief by his teacher. “Yes, it would be my business. I’ve been thinking lately that it’s time you got married, and I don’t want you to make a mistake.”
“I don’t especially want to get married right now,” Hank exclaimed. His face flushed. “But when I do, I can pick a woman just fine without any help from you.”

In this excerpt from Blue 52 my hero is thinking of when he was a young child. He has started to question whether or not the history books are right. Blue 52 is available at most online retail outlets and fine book stores everywhere.
Blurb:
Excerpt:
When he thought of them, he usually got a warm, safe feeling. He could distinctly remember both of them sitting on the bed with him reading him a story before he went to sleep.
A faint smile curved his lips when he thought of the time he and his mother had sneaked up on his father while he was asleep on the beach. They had poured ocean water from a little sand bucket onto his stomach. He had come awake with a roar and jumped up and chased them down the beach. When he caught them, he had threatened to throw both of them into the ocean. Instead, they had walked down the beach hand in hand and found a hot dog stand where his father bought everyone a hot dog.
Other memories clamored for attention, like the time his mother fell and broke her ankle. He could still picture the fear on his father’s face. His mother had bitten her lip and hidden her face against his father’s shoulder. His dad had hugged her and looked as if he were trying to take away her pain.
When they came home from the hospital, his father had carried her upstairs and stayed with her the entire evening. Had some of his father’s aides fussed at him for missing appointments? He thought he remembered his father bellowing at them and telling them to leave him alone.
What in the name of God happened on that mountain where they died?

Snippet Sunday: Blue 52
Welcome to Snippet Sunday. I hope you're enjoying the holidays so far. My decorating is finished, and I've shifted into shopping mode. Don't forget to scroll down to this past Tuesday's release party for Blue 52. I'm offering decorations for a small theme Christmas tree as one of my prizes, and besides that I'd love for you to read chapter one of Blue 52. You can find more snippets to read at https://www.facebook.com/groups/SnippetSunday/
In this excerpt, Hank and Kathryn are... Well, you'll figure it out.
“I’ve never compared you to your father,” she whispered. “I’ve never even met your father, but I know you, Hank, and I like what I’ve found out about you.” Her eyes locked with his as she slid across the bed to within a hair’s breadth of him.
“You smell faintly of lilac,” he muttered.
Kathryn ran her hand through her hair, releasing the lilac fragrance into the air. “That’s the shampoo I used on my hair. Do you like it?”
“Uh huh. I like that clingy little robe too. I’m trying not to stare, but those curves of yours are getting to me.”

Snippett Sunday: Blue 52
Welcome to Snippet Sunday. My excerpt today is from my mainstream romance Blue 52 which is scheduled to be released on December 1. After you finish here, go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/SnippetSunday/ for more awesome excerpt.
In this excerpt, my heroine gets a nasty surprise after she leaves my hero's house.
With no warning, three shadowy figures melted out of the shrubbery around the porch and surrounded her. They seized her under her arms and propelled her backwards toward the house before she had time to call out. She hit her head against the wall, and for a moment she saw stars. A hand sheathed in a thick, leather glove roughly covered her mouth and nose as she drew a breath to scream. One of the attackers slapped a length of duct tape across her mouth.
The two largest men crushed her against the house while the third man casually slipped a knife from his pocket. Kathryn struggled with all her strength, but she might as well have tried to move the house itself. She was no match for two strong men.
"Be still, Dr. Sinclair," the third man ordered. He held the knife in front of Kathryn’s terrified eyes for her inspection.

Beyond the Book: Character Interview Hank Lovinggood
Hello, and
welcome to Beyond the Book, Madame Cantrell’s way of keeping you up to date on
the characters you’ve grown to love. My name is Prince Alan, and I was the hero
of Madame’s book The Enchanted. However, I am not here to discuss that work of
art. Instead, I have asked for the privilege of introducing Madame Cantrell’s
latest hero Hank Lovinggood. Sir, can you tell the readers a bit about
yourself?
Hank:
(nodding) I’d be glad to. My family has
been involved in public service for years. My grandfather is a senator, and my
father was the President of the US. My mother was a world-famous movie star.
When I was three, my father was assassinated, and I went to live with my
grandparents.
Prince Alan:
(frowning) How dreadful. I hope the assassins were apprehended and punished.
Hank: (jaw
set and eyes stormy) Actually, the history books say that my mother killed my
father and then committed suicide.
Prince Alan:
I can tell by the look on your face that you do not believe this to be true.
Hank: That’s
right. I can remember a little from the time before they died, so I know how
much they loved each other. There’s no way my mother did it. In fact…
Prince Alan:
Pray go on.
Hank: I’m
starting a new investigation into the murders, but whatever you do, don’t tell
my grandmother. She’d freak out something awful.
Prince Alan:
I do not know this term ‘freak out’, but I believe I understand your meaning.
Your parents have been dead for thirty years. Do you truly think it is possible
to find the truth after so many years?
Hank: Oh,
yes. I have a good idea who did it, so now all I have to do is prove it.
Prince Alan:
This sounds dangerous, so I beg you to be careful. Princess Morgane and I wish
you well in your search for justice.
Hank: Thank
you. It’s time my family stopped looking back and focused on the future for a
change. Here’s a blurb to tell you about
the book.

Excerpt: In
this excerpt, Hank has gone to see a retired Secret Service agent who may help
him investigate his parents’ murders.
He gave Hank the once-over and made his usual comment.
“Seriously, Hank, you’ve turned into a nice-looking man. How come you aren’t
married yet?”
Hank snickered. “Every time I come here you ask me the
same thing. How come you aren’t married yourself?”
“Because I like hunting and fishing too much. Now,
answer me. What about the pretty doctor you were kissing at that charity
party?”
“You heard about that?”
Rudy rolled his eyes. “Yeah, Hank. It was all over the
papers and the TV.”
“We only did it for charity.” Hank felt heat rising in
his face when he remembered the feel of Kathryn’s lips on his. “There’s nothing
between us.”
“Sorry, but I’m not buying that story.” Rudy’s eyes
gleamed. “I saw the expression on your face; you liked those kisses.”
Hank burst out laughing. “Of course I did. Kathryn’s
beautiful, but she isn’t interested in me.”
“Why not?”
He cocked his head and studied Hank. “You’re good looking and rich. Why
wouldn’t she be interested in you?”
