Ryan Sawyer is only a shell of a man. After the death of his wife, he only cared about one thing; his little girl. He isn't the man he used to be, but then he meets Amber. She's new in town and planning to take over her grandmother's bakery.
If you believe in love at first sight, you'll love this story because basically, that's what happens. Every day Ryan feels more like himself, but the road to true love never runs smooth. Someone is waiting in the wings to throw a monkey wrench into his life with Amber.
I think Ms. Harms did a good job handling the attraction between Ryan and Amber. The sexual tension was pretty thick! (There are some consummated love scenes in the book.)
Amber was my favorite character. She came from a dysfunctional background, but she was truly a good person who acted unselfishly during the entire book. I don't think most people would have loved another person enough to do what she did, and no, I'm not telling you what it was.
The ending was heartwarming, but the reader is left with a nice cliffhanger as a person from Amber's past shows up to.... We don't know what. I'm assuming that question will be answered in book two of the Sawyer Brothers trilogy.
If you're in the mood for romance, passion, and love, you'll probably enjoy Ryan's Love, and as soon as Book 2 comes out I'll be reading it too. Jackson is the hero in the second book, and I thought he was very interesting.
