Saturday Sample and Weekend Writing Warriors: Never Trust a Pretty Wolf

Welcome to Saturday Sample and Weekend Writing Warriors. Today we'll continue to share excerpts from Never Trust a Pretty Wolf. On Sunday when you finish here, do go to http://www.wewriwa.blogspot.com for more excerpts from a bunch of great authors.

Blurb:
Liesel Wolf has a secret, a dangerous secret she’ll go to any lengths to conceal. When she’s paired in a charity game with sexy marshal Andy Bryce, a man with secrets of his own, her carefully constructed world comes crashing down, and Liesel’s on a collision course with her past.

Excerpt:
Chapter One

Last Week

This week: I've skipped a few paragraphs and we pick up the next morning after Liesel and Andy arrive at the place where they expect to find the next set of coordinates.

Liesel consulted the GPS for a moment. “We need to go up that little trail beside the nature center.”

“Okay.”

They got out of the car and started up the trail. In spite of her hurry, Liesel had to pause when they crossed a crystal-clear, boulder-strewn creek. Children and adults climbed on the rocks, laughing and throwing pebbles in the water. One woman had a grip on her little boy’s shorts. It reminded her of last year, before... Crap. Forget about that.

  1. Oh, there's a definite hidden story here involving a child. I wonder how long she will keep everything hidden inside.

  2. Somehow I seem to have missed a few weeks. Not sure how that happened!

That last line teases about a traumatic secret lurking in her past.
